Ava Grace Gunn's Obituary
GUNN, Ava Grace, a spunky and sassy 5 year old, of Waynesville, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020.
Ava was born September 11, 2015 to James and Amanda Gunn. She attended Crossview Christian Church in Waynesville, where she was an active participant in their Tuesday School program.
Ava Grace was full of life and would light up a room wherever she went. She had a very outgoing personality and a way of capturing people when she first met them, because to know Ava was to love Ava. Throughout her battle with cancer, she had a fighting spirit but always did so with immense grace. She greatly enjoyed swimming, playing outside, going to the park, playing with her dolls, and especially coloring and painting with others. Among so many things, she will be remembered for her play kitchen and for the way she loved to “cook and prepare meals” for her family and friends. In addition, she also loved to dress up in her princess dresses, watch Paw Patrol, Ladybug cartoons, the Disney musical and dance movie Zombies, and songs that involved Christmas or silly themes.
She was preceded in death by grandpa Joseph Noble and great grandparents Judy Noble and James Fraunfelter. She is survived by her parents James and Amanda; older brother Cody Gunn; grandparents Linda Gunn, Mac Gunn, and Susan Noble; great grandparents Gene Noble, Dolores Fraunfelter, and Martha Adams; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, November 30 Crossview Christian Church in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Alan Scott will be officiating. The family will receive friends 3 - 7 PM Sunday at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ava’s memory to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research, c/o 1333 S. Mayflower Ave., Monrovia, CA 91016 or via www.stbaldricks.org.
