Betty A. Whitestine's Obituary
WHITESTINE, Betty A. age 77, former POSTMASTER of Waynesville, passed away Thurs. Jan. 7, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. As the first female Postmaster in Waynesville, Betty retired from the Waynesville Post Office after 30 years of service. Following her retirement, she worked 10 years at the Mary L. Cook Library in Waynesville. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kettering, the Waynesville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary in Kettering. An animal lover, she greatly enjoyed gardening, art, sewing, quilting, reading, genealogy, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Terry James Edwards Jr. and her parents John and Mary Lewis. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert E. Whitestine Jr; one son Jack (Nicole) Whitestine; three daughters Lora Marie (Tom) Mills, Michele (Jeffrey) Dove, and Rochelle (Mark) Culver; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Mon. Jan. 11 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Pastor Mark Carlson will be officiating.
