Carlos Jones' Obituary
JONES, Carlos - N8PWP, age 72, of Hamilton passed away Wed. Jan. 12, 2011 at Mercy of Fairfield. Born Nov. 26, 1938 to Arzie and Rhodella Jones in Leslie County, KY. Carlos retired from GE in 1993 after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the Morningstar Christian Fellowship in Hamilton, the Kentucky Colonels, a special deputy with Butler County, and was an avid ham radio operator. Known as the "Banjer Picker", he was a blue grass musician and part of the Sounds of Grass band. He taught music for several years at Mehas Music in Hamilton. He was preceded in death by one daughter Barbara Money; one son Lonnie Jones; great grandson Matthew Ehling; three brothers Jimmy, Eugene, and Clarence Jones; and two sisters Alta Feltner and Emma Jean Jones. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce; two sons Carlos (Kathy) and Frank (Patti) Jones; two daughters Joanie (Darrell) Mills and Angel "Sambo" Jones; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers Bert (Joyce) and Lonnie Jones; four sisters Evelyn (Jeff) Pennington, Cathy Pennington, Betty Wooton, and Gerry (Raymond) Johnson; mother-in-law Mae Harris; and son-in-law Jeff Money. Funeral services 1 PM Mon. Jan. 17 at the Pentecostal Highway of Holiness, Hamilton. The family will receive friends 11 AM-1 PM Mon. at the church.
