Jim Carter was a special man. Like it says in the obituary that he put out a garden and gave most of it away. Put up tomatoes and beans every year, loved his lilies, hunted, arrowheads and mushrooms, knew about trees and woodland vegetation. There were lunches in Lumberton with friends and farmers. He always amazed me with how much he knew
