Constance "Connie" M. Miller's Obituary
MILLER, Constance “Connie” M., age 70, of Hillsboro and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022.
Connie was co-founder and a former president of the Warren County Family Abuse Shelter, where she spent 14 years of her working career. She worked an additional few years at Warren County Transit and another ten years at Rogers Jewelers before ultimately finding her calling as a massage therapist. She continued to perform body healing for the past 15-20 years.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Waynesville American Legion Post 615 and the Hillsboro AMVETS Post 61.
Genuinely optimistic, forgiving, free-spirited, caring, and outgoing, Connie had a beautiful soul and was always optimistic with a feeling that things would always work themselves out. While living on Chamberlain Hill, Connie always tended to her family, neighborhood children, and her kids’ friends, which earned her the affectionate and fitting nickname of “Mother of the Hill.” Her hobbies included dancing, spending time with her friends, and geology - specifically finding and collecting rocks and making things out of stones and crystals. She loved making and repairing jewelry, which led her to work at a jewelry store for many years. She also loved going on vacations and seeing new places. It was a tradition to travel to Myrtle Beach with her daughter and family, the beaches in Florida, Nashville to visit her other daughter, and Arizona with her best friend, Kathy. However, her fondest travel memory was when she spent two weeks with her family in Turkey while her dad had a working assignment in the country. She collected angels and turtles figurines, which she adored. She was incredibly proud of her kids and assistance co-founding the battered women’s shelter. While working at and helping start the shelter, Connie also made time to volunteer at the shelter located in Clermont County.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Miller; her parents, Ralph and Laura Wise; and one brother, Mike Wise. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Randy) Bishop and Charlotte Miller; two grandchildren, LaTessa Doyle and Jonathon Doyle; one brother, David (Betty) Wise; and two sisters, Jean (Dale) Peercy and Becky (Brian) Arledge.
Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Friday, August 5, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Tom Clark will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 3 - 5 PM Friday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Warren County Family Abuse Shelter, c/o SAFE On Main, 420 E. Main St., Lebanon, Ohio, 45036. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
