Cynthia L. Beckman-Rimpo's Obituary
BECKMAN-RIMPO, Cynthia L., age 69, of Waynesville, passed away Mon. Nov. 5, 2018. She was born Aug. 30, 1949 to Eldon and Joyce Beckman in Wessington Springs, South Dakota.
Cynthia graduated from Wessington Springs High School in South Dakota, class of ’67, and South Dakota State University in 1971. A former nurse, she worked 18 years in combined workplaces of a hospital, private practice, and education. She was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church.
Cynthia was easy going, quiet, and a friend to everyone. She greatly enjoyed reading, especially historical fiction and non-fiction literature. She also loved to travel. Her favorite locations to visit were Egypt and Israel, but the Netherlands became like a second home to her. She collected tea cups and miscellaneous items from her trips, most notably artwork from various locations.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Beckman. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bill; two children Nicolas and Megan Rimpo; her parents Eldon and Joyce Beckman; and two sisters Lisa (Philip) Edwards and Sandra Wenzel.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wed. Nov. 7 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thurs. at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home. Additional services and burial will be held in Wessington Springs, South Dakota early next week. If desired, contributions may be made to World Vision and/or Save The Children.
