Edward "Ed" M. Carrier's Obituary
CARRIER, Edward “Ed” M., age 79, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, July 14, at his residence.
Ed honorably served our country in the United States Army. He retired from Astro Container in Sharonville after 15 years of service. Following retirement, Ed went on to start his own home construction business, Carrier Construction, building decks throughout Southwest Ohio. Ed was also an ordained minister, most recently serving as Pastor of Victory Tabernacle in Franklin.
Family-oriented, witty, caring, loving, and outgoing, Ed loved people, being with God’s people, and serving the Lord. He and his wife, Marilyn, enjoyed going out to eat and attending gospel concerts. Ed was also very family-oriented and loved his role as Grandpa to his grandson, Grant. He had a tradition each summer of going on a special trip with his grandson. Some of his favorite destinations included Red River Gorge, Cedar Point, and Pigeon Forge.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alma Carrier; two brothers, Billy Carrier and Stanley “Cricket” Carrier; two sisters, Janet Ingram and Vicki McKinney. He is survived by his wife of nearly 15 years, Marilyn; his son, Heath (Chris) Carrier; one grandson, Grant; and three sisters, Nancy Patrick, Carol Lucas, and Betty Lou Carrier.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, July 26, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service with full military honors will immediately follow the visitation at 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Eric Purkey and Mike Rice will be officiating the services. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com .
