Geneva Davis' Obituary
DAVIS, Geneva age 95, of Waynesville, passed away Fri. Feb. 5, 2016 at Quaker Heights Care Community. Geneva worked at Waynesville Elementary School as a second grade teacher until her retirement. She was a member of Waynesville United Methodist Church. Simply put, you just could not meet a kinder, sweeter, and more caring and gentle soul than Geneva. Wife, mother, grandparent, great grandparent, teacher, neighbor, and friend these are several of the roles she cared so passionately about and fulfilled oh so well. Upon her marriage to James Elmo Davis, they moved to Dayton, lured by the prospects of better jobs and a higher quality of life. They ended up settling in Waynesville and resided on Ferry Rd for over 50 years. They were always willing to help a neighbor, support a good cause, and share their homegrown vegetables. Their backyard hosted many picnics and family get-togethers over the years. So many good memories and ties that bind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those fortunate enough to have been a part of her life. She was preceded in death in 2008 by her husband of 67 years, James Elmo Davis. Funeral services 12 PM Wed. Feb. 10 at Waynesville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 10:30 -12 PM Wed. at the church. A memorial service will be held at Waynesville United Methodist Church on March 19th. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Waynesville Elementary School Library. The family would like to thank the staff of Quaker Heights. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
