Glenda G. Carrier's Obituary
CARRIER, Glenda G., age 80, of Waynesville, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Faith, generosity, and hospitality defined Glenda's life. Whether welcoming guests into her home, encouraging a friend, mentoring women through Sarah Coventry Jewelry, or quietly serving others through her church, she found her greatest joy in making people feel loved. A faithful member of Oak Creek Worship Center in Kettering for more than 40 years, Glenda quietly lived her beliefs through kindness, compassion, and selfless service.
Glenda devoted more than 25 years to Sarah Coventry Jewelry, where she excelled as a jewelry manager and inspiring sales leader. Whether she was hosting a jewelry party, mentoring a new consultant, or celebrating another woman's success, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her enthusiasm earned her incentive trips that took her throughout the United States, including Hawaii, as well as to the Bahamas, but it was the friendships she built and the women she encouraged that she treasured most.
One of Glenda's greatest joys was garage sale shopping. Proudly referring to herself as "The Garagesale Queen," she loved the excitement of hunting for bargains, negotiating a good deal, and discovering hidden treasures. She even insisted on spending no more than one dollar on each purchase, convinced it was the secret to finding the very best bargains. What brought her the greatest satisfaction, however, was using many of those finds to bless others, especially by collecting coats, blankets, and other useful items for Oak Creek Worship Center's outreach ministry serving those in need.
Known for her warmth and hospitality, Glenda loved opening her home to family and friends. Thanksgiving dinners, Fourth of July cookouts, and countless family gatherings were often centered around her table. She was an exceptional cook whose piña colada cake, seven-layer salad, Thanksgiving dressing, and baked beans became treasured family favorites.
Glenda had an eye for beauty and detail. She proudly displayed her beloved Eiffel Tower collection, enjoyed fashion, and was known for perfectly coordinating her jewelry, clothing, shoes, and purse. Family members described her as beautiful inside and out, elegant, classy, organized, and generous. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, and everyone knew not to call during her favorite show.
Above all, Glenda treasured her family. Her daughters were the center of her world, and creating memories with them brought her the greatest joy.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Donald "Don" Carrier in 2018; her daughter, Donna Hymer; her parents, Anthony J. Moore and Mary "Edith" (Johnson) Moore; her brothers, Palmer Moore, James Moore, Kenneth Moore, and Roger Moore; and her sisters, Marie Adkins, Betty Kelley, and Gloria Moore. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Ryan and Lisa Hymer (Chris Cash); her sister, Sue (L.B.) Gullette; her grandchildren, Cayla (Jake) Riegelsperger, George (Pepper) Ryan, Amanda Morgan, and Shane Cash; her great-grandson, Jonah; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Oak Creek Worship Center, 4800 Bigger Road, Kettering, with Pastor Brian Gibboney officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
The family invites everyone attending the services to wear something pink in honor of Glenda, celebrating the color she loved and the joy she brought to those around her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the outreach ministry of Oak Creek Worship Center. Condolences may be shared with the family at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
