Mrs. Vanderpool was a dear lady who touched my life in so many ways. She was a caring teacher who always had a smile for me when I had her in class. As we got older, we comforted each other in our losses. She always kept that smile and a positive attitude. I am so sad to hear that she has passed. She will be missed.
I was so surprised and saddened to hear of Mrs. Vanderpool's passing. I was hoping to see her at the WHS Alumni Banquet; in fact, I was hoping that they would consider her as a speaker for the 50 year class. I have many fond memories of her when I was in her 5th grade class--and her friendly greeting(s) anytime that I saw her. She was a fantastic teacher--and a wonderful lady.
Sweet Helen,, I only got to spend a few short weeks with you... But what a blessing to have met you and connect from the first moment we met. Thanks for your hugs and I love you's.... I pray I made you know how special you are to me with my I love you's back.. You will be greatly missed !!!! I know how much you missed your loved ones... Mrs. Vanderpool was our neighbor for several years. She used to watch Skylar, my daughter. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed. Prayers for all her friends and family. <3
Mrs. Vanderpool was a wonderful teacher and a classy lady. I was blessed to have her for my 5th grade teacher and more blessed to have kept in touch with her all these years at different church and family events. I pray that my kids have the opportunity to have a teacher sow into their lives the way Mrs. Vanderpool sowed into the lives of those blessed to know her. Heaven truly gained an angel. Prayers for the Vanderpool family as they grieve this loss.

Mrs Vanderpool was my first teacher when I moved to Waynesville. I couldn't have asked for better teacher. Very kind, wonderful person. Thank you Mrs Vanderpool.
