Jean and Bob took great care of my daughter, Shanda Miltenberger Gentry when she was 2 years old and up. Bob taught her to count playing cards with her. They were compassionate and loving care givers for my daughter. Shanda and I moved to Kettering when she was about 4 or 5 because it was closer to my work. Pulling her away from the loving relationship with Jean and Bob was hard. Shanda was in a daycare for one day. She had tears in her eyes when I picked her up. i called Jean and asked if they still wanted to take of my daughter. She said “of course”. So from that point, I drove from Kettering to Lytle to Miamisburg, where i worked. Shanda was not crying any more. we loved both Jean and Bob so much.

in honor of Imogene.

I had the extreme honor to meet Imogene through my work as a home care Occupational Therapist. She always greeted me with a lovely smile. She always had an interesting story to tell or picture to show me. Never missed an opportunity to talk about kids/grandkids. What a privilege it was to have met & enjoyed her presence. She also had such a loving family & I met Tim multiple times at the house. He helped her out doing anything she needed like building her a platform step to get to her laundry area. Anyone would be blessed beyond understanding to have the family & support she had. My only regret was not being able to get that tour of the 2nd floor of her amazing house. RIP Imogene, I’m sure you’re reunited with your family in heaven. God Bless.

Where to begin? There are so many great memories with Granma, from a simple smile to her unique laugh, she was everything a grandson requires of a grandmother, comfort and support, concern and interest, love and joy, and so much more. She doted on us and spoiled us, while never missing the opportunity to show us the stark difference between wrong and right, good behavior and poor behavior. She always had high expectations for our character, but she was fun too. From hope in the Cincinnati Reds each spring to discussing which books we liked to needling Grandpa Bob about which shirt he should be wearing, she had the knack to make a grandson smile very easily. And this was always a comfort and a guarantee. Love you Gram.
