Imogene F. Wood's Obituary
WOOD, Imogene F. “Jean,” age 96, of Waynesville, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
Jean was a woman whose greatest joy was her family. She loved cooking and preparing special holiday spreads and baking for those she loved. She also loved flower gardening. Arranging beautiful flowers brought her much happiness.
She was loyal to her family and deeply loved by them. A cherished tradition she held dear was traveling twice a year to visit her family in New York, especially to see her grandchildren living there. She was always very proud of her three children and took great pride in seeing how well her children raised their own families. Their love and success made her feel proud both as a mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Wood, who passed away in 2008; her parents, Ruford Moore and Mary Jane (Peters) Combs; and her brother, Norman “Dexter” Moore. She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Pamela) Wood and Timothy Wood; her daughter, Judith (Dennis) Kearns; six grandchildren, Aaron, Jake, and Seth (Nella) Wood, Amanda (Jeff) Sesslar, Nathan (Jennifer) Kearns, and Jessi Wood (Ken Sparaco); and seven great-grandchildren, Rhys, AJ, Lily, Trinity, Zane, Rowan, and Samuel.
Private family services will be held at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Condolences may be made to the family at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
