Jacqueline "Gilda" Winkler's Obituary
WINKLER, Jacqueline “Gilda”, age 68, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Hospice of Dayton.
After graduating from Patterson Co-Op High School, Gilda earned an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygienics from Sinclair Community College. She ran the dental clinic at Miami Valley Hospital for several years following her time in college. Lately, she has been attending the Harvest Baptist Church in Waynesville.
Courageous, sassy, loving, resilient, outgoing, talkative, and faithful to God, Gilda sacrificed for her family and lived her pro-life convictions her entire life. While her kids were growing up, she served as an organizational advisor for Aim High 4H in Warren County and was active in the Warren County Fair. In addition, she raised horses for the kids to enjoy during those younger years. She greatly enjoyed flower gardening, hosting Bible study at her home, her farm dogs, and cooking. She was known for her meatloaf, made with chili sauce and coffee, and her oatmeal cookies. Her cookies were so good that she was often asked for the recipe. And no, the family doesn’t have the recipe. Among many things, she will be remembered for the pride she had in her children and the never-ending love she had for her husband.
She was preceded in death by a son, Isaac Winkler, and her parents, Kenneth and Mary Huckeby. She is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years, Fredrick; son, Jacob (Andrea) Winkler; two daughters, Rachel Lacey and Aliya Winkler; two grandchildren, John and Declan; and one brother, Byron (Pam) Huckeby.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 12 PM Saturday, November 5 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 12 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Burlington Cemetery in Chester Township, Wilmington. Pastor Steve Jackson will be officiating the services. If desired, contributions may be made to ALS Association. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
