John came into my life at the age of 10 for both of us. His father married my mother. He was one of 2 boys on his fathers side with 3 girls and a boy added from my mother. Life wasn't easy in a blended family where he was no longer the youngest getting the attention that would gain you. We shared the same grade and went through the same classes together from then to 8th grade. After that he went to Roger Bacon HS and I went to a public HS. I joined the US Navy out of HS and he joined the US Marines many months later. Vietnam was tough enough and then when these men came home they did not come to a big welcome but to be spat upon etc. Out country was in uprising over the War. So these men went underground to suffer the pains of war and try to live out their lives. But for John the effects of Agent Orange and mental issues became overwhelming. He is now free of those Demons and in a better place. RIP USMC from your Sister in tow ways. Family and the military.
