Joyce D. Mercatante's Obituary
MERCATANTE, Joyce D. Age 63, of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital.
Joyce worked 22 years at The Pine Club restaurant in Dayton. She was currently employed for BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse at Austin Landing as a hostess.
Strong-willed and very independent, Joyce taught her daughter to be independent and yet had a heart of gold and a willingness to help others. She was a huge fan of Aerosmith and classic rock, and enjoyed crime shows on TV and shopping trips to her favorite stores with her daughter. Her go to shopping destinations included Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and HomeGoods, but always with her daughter and a lunch break to a local restaurant. She looked forward to and loved attending the Ohio Sauerkraut Festival held each October in Waynesville. The beach was her happy place however, traveling with her daughter each year to a destination in Florida. While she loved all the Florida beaches, the gulf coast beaches were her favorites. She loved summertime and looked forward to all that the season provided every year. Among many things, the love and kindness she had for her dogs, a couple of chihuahuas and an Italian greyhound, will always be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her former spouse and close friend, Daniel Mercatante and her father Ernest England. She is survived by her daughter Chelsea (Josh) Bolinger; her two precious grandchildren Willow and River; her mother Ruth England; and one brother David (Becky) England.
