HOOVER, Merle of Waynesville, passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on June 17, 2014. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Middletown. Merle retired from being a teacher with the Kettering City Schools. Read Obituary
Mrs Hoover: I am sorry for your loss even though we are in a way strangers--- yet we are not. Our husbands graduated at New Lexington together. My husband, the late Bill Henry , was a minister for Churches of Christ for 55 years. Located here in Hamilton N J for 32 years at time of his death in 2012. Uncle Merle was a great man. He made our Aunt Betty very happy and came to jakes football games. It meant the world to us. He loved our crazy family and we love him. He will be missed
When Betty first began bringing Merle to church with her, we knew immediately they were a perfect match. His smile was so contagious! And they were so happy together! The time we got to know him was much too short, but thanks to Betty bringing Merle to Christ, we has the promise of seeing him "soon". Later, Brother Merle!

Merle was my high school American History teacher at New Lexington High School. My husband and I reconnected with him several years ago through Antique Car club and often visited with him at Ohio regional meetings. He was a great and caring person.
