Have not had time to read through all the tributes to Ray and I have been away from Waynesville for a long time but I will always remember his visits out home and sometimes the rare hauling of water out to both of the farms throughout my growing up years. He was a favorite of my parents. What I remember most is after April 3, 1974, he came out to the house and told dad he had spent that night and many days beyond hauling water up to Xenia for those devastated people and the hospital. He said he was never so scared (up to that time, at least!) as when he was driving up US 42 that night and early April 4 and saw many more funnel clouds dancing over his truck and along his route. Luckily, they stayed as funnel clouds so he just kept going up to where he was needed and then back to Waynesville to load up again. How many trips, I do not remember. Quite a great man in so many ways. Bless you, dear Cousin!
