Clara (Hauser) Pottinger
I did not know Teddy as an adult but remember him coming with his family to our house in Gratis and how he and his brothers would play in the basement of our home with us. Teddy and Matthew my brother were almost the same age about a month apart and our home was heated by a coal furnace and we would ride bikes , trikes, and wagons around this big furnace that put out a lot of coal dust. I know that we came upstairs covered in dust I'm sure he and his brothers did.also. Roy and Chris were younger and closer to my age but all those boys were fun and we had a great time. We couldn't wait to see them at reunions over at Helen and Homers place later. His family was the best! I remember several large paper bags of groceries being brought to our home by his parents when my dad got hurt and was out of work and money. He was what he called being blackballed by his employer so he could not collect any unemployment due to the accident being caused by the boss's son , so we were blessed to have cousins that even with feeding their large family helped to feed ours as well From the stories that were told at the funeral I'm sure that is where Teddy learned the example of having a giving heart as shared by all those who tol stories about him. The real shock in the funeral was to know Ted had not followed the savior all his life His family used to sing in church so it was good to see he accepted Jesus again and sought to be forgiven for things that had happened in his life. I know there is Peace in knowing the Savior and trying to live the life he wants us to live. Clara (Hauser) Pottinger My dad was Raymond Hauser who's father, Thomas was a brother to Christian Hauser who is Teddy's grandfather. We share a great grandfather Christian Hauser that came over from Germany.
