Ted R. Hauser's Obituary
HAUSER, Ted R., age 73, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020. He was born October 20, 1946 to Walter and Opal Hauser.
Ted was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. He retired in 2006 after selling cars for over 30 years. He loved cars and greatly enjoyed selling them and attending car shows. He also owned many cars over the years, with a 1970’s era Corvette being one of his favorite.
Happy, outgoing, generous, and loving, Ted was also funny and often ornery in a fun way. He was a big fan of NASCAR, and the late Dale Earnhart specifically. He had Bengals season tickets for many years and always enjoyed going down to root on his team. He was not shy about his pride for his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He collected model cars and NASCAR memorabilia, and loved sweets and Diet Mt. Dew. Over the years, Ted enjoyed traveling to the beach, with Myrtle Beach and Daytona Beach being his favorite locations. He loved Daytona because he would usually time the trip around a race. He was known to walk miles and miles on the beach in the mornings, enjoying the serenity of the shoreline. Among many things, he will be remembered for how much he enjoyed Thanksgiving in Tennessee at his wife’s mom’s home, whereby the family of more than 70 people would gather together for the holiday. He also looked forward to his son-in-law’s biscuits and gravy on Christmas morning each year.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol Hauser. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Donna; daughter Tammy (Chad) Colborn; three grandchildren Jamie (Kyle) Norman, Marrissa Evans (fiancée Josh Hardyman), and Bryson Colborn; two great grandchildren Lucas and Lane; three brothers Roy (Linda) Hauser, Chris (Sandy) Hauser, and Jimmy (Sharon) Hauser; and two sisters Linda Petrey and Kathy (Steve) Conner.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, October 2 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Phil Petrey will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Friday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
