Terry E. loved Jesus and the power of His word more than life itself. In 1982 while a sinner lost to his own selfish desires, I met Terry E. when he came to Winslow Park Baptist Church in Sharonville to "interview" the church body, as the search was on to fill a vacant pulpit. Normally when a person answers the call from a pulpit search committee, he's the one everyone wants to take a shot at to see where he stands in his biblical scholarship. Terry E. quickly realized there was a flock of sheep starving for the word of God, and he was well aware that Jesus had ridden with him from Springboro to prepare the way for them both to be welcomed into a starving fellowship. He led me to the throne of grace in the fall of 1982, and these past 37-years we have enjoyed each other's company as sheep of Jesus' flock. Things we both enjoyed: singing tenor in the choir, playing softball, digging into the gospel to find the hidden gems placed there by the Holy Trinity, a long and peaceful ride on a Harley Davidson, and fellowship with those who called themselves followers of Christ. I'm glad I got to spend some special times with him in recent years, and ever-so-thankful that he's entrusted me with most of his sermon notes, and quite a few books that helped shape his ministry. I love you Terry E...say high to Lowell for me (I'm sure he was all smiles when you walked up to meet Jesus in person).
