Wayne M. Benson's Obituary
BENSON, Wayne M. age 56 of Waynesville and formerly of Johnson City, TN, Columbus and Gallipolis, OH passed away suddenly Mon. March 31, 2014 at his residence. Wayne received a bachelor's degree from Mansfield Univ. in Mansfield, PA. He was currently employed at Krogers corporate division, having served for 20 years. He was the treasurer, drummer, and banjo player for the Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes & Drums Band, former president of the United Way in Gallipolis, OH, and he enjoyed music, especially bluegrass, restoring old cars, remodeling, and hiking. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Cedora Benson. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patty, brother Art (Kelly) Benson, mother-in-law Doreen McCallister, sister-in-law Caroline Crace-Hillard, two nieces Meagon Hillard and Cody Denbow, and two nephews Casey Benon and Jimmy Hillard. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Fri. April 4 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
