William "Bill" L. Kier's Obituary
KIER, William “Bill” L. age 77, of Waynesville, passed away Thurs. April 7, 2016 at Kettering Medical Center. Bill graduated from Wayne Local Schools class of '56 and received a bachelor’s degree of business administration from Wilmington College in 1960. He regularly attended the Lytle and Waynesville United Methodist Church. He retired from Central Middle School in Xenia where he worked as a librarian, athletic director, coach, and a teacher. In the last several years of his career he taught OWA. He was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge and Lebanon Elks. He greatly enjoyed watching baseball and playing softball. Recently, he visited every major league ballpark in the U.S. with his brother and grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy in 2006, and parents Ray and Pauline Kier. He is survived by two daughters Cindy (Keith) Houseman and Julie (Mike) Baumer; three grandchildren Brandon Dray, Christopher Baumer, and Nicole Baumer; one brother Tom Kier; and sister-in-law Leeanne Russell. A celebration of life service will be at 11 am Mon. April 11 at the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Brian Blankenship will be officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Sun. at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. The family would like you to wear your favorite Cincinnati Reds attire at his celebration services.
